Best pregnancy tracker apps for iPhone (2026)
Seven pregnancy apps that come up when you search for the best pregnancy app this year, plus ours, compared on what their own App Store listings say: rating and number of ratings, price, languages, when they were last updated, and which of the tools you need late in pregnancy they list.
We make PreBaby, one of the eight. It is listed first so you know where we stand; then come the five pregnancy-only apps and the two cycle trackers with a pregnancy mode, each group in order of how many US ratings they have. We did not run hands-on tests for this page — everything about the other apps comes from their App Store listings on 1 October 2026, linked below.

How we picked these eight
We searched Google for “best pregnancy app 2026” on 1 October 2026 and read the lists that ranked: Forbes Health , Everyday Health , Consumer Reports, via Quartz and Midwife Schooling . Six of the other seven apps here appear in those lists, and Flo ranks on the same search with its own pregnancy page. PreBaby is in none of them; it is here because we make it. Two more apps appear in some of the lists — Pregnancy App. by Amila and Nurture by Glow — and we left them out only to keep the table to eight.
Then we took every number from Apple’s public App Store lookup for the US store on the same day, and counted a feature only if the app’s own description names it. We have not tested the other apps hands-on for this page, and we have not scored them: ratings shown are their App Store ratings, not ours. App Store numbers move every day, so check the listing before you decide.
What to look for in a pregnancy tracker app
- Where your data goes. A pregnancy diary is sensitive. Check whether the app needs an account, whether it shows ads, and what its privacy label on the App Store says about data linked to you.
- The tools you will want at the end. A kick counter and a contraction timer are easy to overlook at 12 weeks and hard to find at 38. Our guides on how to count baby kicks and when to go to hospital with contractions explain what to record, and our contraction timer app page compares dedicated timer apps if you want one beyond what your pregnancy app lists, and our kick counter app page does the same for dedicated kick counters.
- Whether it works offline. Hospital corridors and waiting rooms often have poor signal, and that is where you will want your notes.
- Who else can see it. If you want a partner to follow along, pick an app whose listing says so.
- Your language. Three of the eight are listed in one or two languages only.
- What is free and what is not. All eight are free to download; read the listing to see what sits behind a subscription.
- How it handles the weeks. Week-by-week content is general information and sizes are averages; our pregnancy week by week guide explains how to read it without worrying.
Questions about pregnancy apps
What is the best pregnancy tracker app for iPhone?
There is no single best one; it depends on what you want from it. Of the pregnancy-only apps, What to Expect and BabyCenter have by far the most US App Store ratings (379,722 and 297,538 on 1 October 2026) and both carry on after the birth. Pregnancy+ and Sprout put interactive 3D models front and centre, Ovia and Flo suit people who already track their cycle, and PreBaby, which we make, is the one to try if you want a calm tracker that works offline with no ads and no account needed.
Are pregnancy tracker apps free?
All eight apps on this page are free to download from the App Store. Several sell extras on top: Flo Premium, a Sprout subscription for its premium features, PreBaby Plus, and Ovia tools that come through some employers and health plans. Each listing says what sits behind its subscription.
Which pregnancy apps work without an account?
Of the eight, two say so in their App Store listing: Sprout ("No Account Required") and PreBaby ("an account is optional"; without one, what you log stays on your phone). Flo offers an Anonymous Mode that lets you use it without linking your name or email. The other listings do not say either way.
Which pregnancy apps let my partner follow along?
Four listings mention it: PreBaby (invite a partner or close family to follow your week), Pregnancy+ (partners, grandparents or friends can follow by downloading the app), Ovia (friends and family sharing) and Flo (Flo for Partners, part of Flo Premium).
Do I need a separate contraction timer or kick counter app?
Usually not. 7 of the eight apps list a kick counter and 6 list a contraction timer, so most people already have both in their pregnancy app. What matters more is knowing when not to rely on any app: if your baby's movements slow down, change or stop, or you have bleeding, your waters break or you have severe pain, call your maternity unit straight away, whatever an app shows.
Is a pregnancy app medical advice?
No. A pregnancy app is a tracker and a source of general information. It does not diagnose anything or replace your midwife or doctor, and anything that worries you is a reason to contact them rather than to check an app.
This page compares apps; it is not medical advice. No app replaces your midwife or doctor, and anything that worries you — especially a change in your baby’s movements — is a reason to call them, not to check an app.
